Any advice about Rochester, NY?

I am considering moving to Rochester, NY and I wanted to know if any locals could give advice about what to expect with travel, weather, and anything else you'd like to warn me about. I plan on going to MCC for a year before transfering to UofR. :DAny advice about Rochester, NY?
i went to RIT for my undergrad in chemistry. I spent over 5 years in and around rochester.

In terms of what there is to do in Rochester? Rochester is a great city if your 21. There is lots to do, restaurants, bars, clubs, etc. If you are not, well you'll be in college. So there should be lots to do around campus.

Weather is pretty brutal, and takes alot of time to get used to. I can't say much about summer since i've never lived there during the summer. But fall, winter and spring it constantly precipitates. It might be rain, it might be snow, or a combo of both. It's also clowdy alot, so if you are sensitive to sunlight, then it might not be a good fit to you.Any advice about Rochester, NY?
depending on where you're coming from, rochester is OK. If you're from the city life, rochester is pretty boring since everything closes at 9pm except walmart and denny's. but if you're transfering to UofR, i'm sure you can find some parties to go to and RIT is around the corner so for college students, it's not so bad. you definitely need a car to go around there but there is a bus system which comes about every 45mins. during the winter, it's pretty brutal w/ the snow storms. but if you have a free weekend you can always drive to buffalo for more parties or go over to canada for some sightseeing =) Good Luck!
