Who has advice about pole vault?

mostly getting vertical i have been doing this for a while and i have a good plant and a good run but it just so hard to getting vertical any advice will do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Who has advice about pole vault?
getting vertical huh...

It starts out on your take-off, right when you take off you're going to be in the figure four position. Then of course you are going to swing your trail leg strait up to the top of the pole. But what most people don't teach is that you also have to use your arms. It is common sense but if you think about it right before you vault it helps out tremendously! Just think about bringing your arms in like a rowing motion. Top hand goes to inner leg and bottom hand curls up by your chest. That should help while you vault but you should also try drills on a bar.

Drills like bubka's or kips will help you practice getting upside down with out having to pole vault which means that you will get many more tries because you wont get tired as quick. Even pull ups help alot too just because your making the muscles stronger that do that movement.

Hope I helped,

Good Luck with your season!Who has advice about pole vault?
keep your trail leg back and have a good knee drive. This will promote a good, fast swing up. Practice swinging up on pull-up bars...it will help you get back faster. From there shoot your legs up and you will ride your pole up to vertical. This drill really helped me...i cleared and extra foot in my season last year! happy vaulting!
