Advice about itchey scrotum?

I've been dealing with itching on my scrotum for about 2 years now. I went to the doctor and he told me to use some cream, once i decided that didn't work i stopped. Right now i'm using powder which seems to work a little bit but im still sick of it. Anybody have any advice? Only professional/mature answers. thanksAdvice about itchey scrotum?

It sounds like jock itch, which is actually a fungal infection. When treating jock itch, you have to use the medication consistently for 2-4 weeks to completely clear the infection. If you don't, you'll just continue to have symptoms because the fungus wasn't completely eliminated. There are over the counter treatments you can use, but I'd go back to the doctor and try a prescription medicine again since the problem has persisted for 2 years. Just be sure to continue using the medication as prescribed, even if it doesn't seem to work immediately! Fungal infections take longer to treat because their cells are similar to our own cells. Just be patient though, because if jock itch is really the problem..you can get rid of it, but it does take time.





It helps to keep the area as dry as possible and to avoid tight clothing. It might also help to wash your sheets and any clothing that comes in contact with the area with hot, soapy water (and bleach if possible), to sterilize them.Advice about itchey scrotum?
Sounds like Jock itch and there are several things you can get OTC or talk to the Pharmacist at your local Drug Store, ask what they recomend for Jock Itch.

Was it Lotrmin you were using? Great for jock itch. ANd let the guys hang free in boxers when you are home...a little breathing room.
ummmm... do what the doctor tells you because you probably got an STD or you just haven't tried SCRATCHING THEM!!!
